Congratulations to Jan Lindsay, QC, the new President of the Law Society of British Columbia.  Jan has the honor of being the first President of the Law Society who is a mother.   Jan was called to the bar in 1981 and was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 2009.  Elected as a Bencher of the Law Society in 2006, Jan has served the profession on numerous committees.  Jan is a founding partner of Lindsay LLP, practicing civil litigation with an emphasis on personal injury and insurance litigation.  Throughout her career, Jan has received many awards to recognize her exceptional contribution to the practice of law and is mostly recently  the 2013 recipient of the Women Lawyers Forum Award of Excellence, awarded in recognition of lawyers “who have taken risks, fostered change, and ultimately opened doors for women lawyers.”
