The new Code of Civil Procedure raises the jurisdictional threshold of the Small Claims Division of the Court of Quebec from $7,000 to $15,000. However, it is not possible to transfer a case to the Small Claims Division once it has already been presented before the Civil Division of the Court of Quebec when the changes come into force, that is, as of January 1, 2015.
